Classic cable rail system - I - Timber post

The Classic cable rail assembly kit is the best choice for a long lasting style. It is the most popular kit among our customers. Easy to install, this kit can tensions a section of cable over 40 feet. The swageless wire rope fittings make it perfect for contractors or DIY : no crimping tool needed.

Specifications

For each run of wire rope cable, this kit includes a swageless stud terminal and a swageless jaw terminal (with clevis pin) with a stainless steel screw eye.

The hardware features a mechanical swage fitting which allows for fast attachment using simple hand tools.

A cable railing should include 7 to 11 runs of cable, depending on the height of the posts.

The tensioning of the cable is done by screwing the nut of the swageless stud terminal on the outside of the wood post.

When the cable passes through intermediate posts, it is recommended to install protective sleeves.

Installation Guide (Classic Cable Rail System - I - Timber Post)

The Classic cable rail system I is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cable railing projects.

Insert the stainless steel screw eye in the wood and attach the swageless jaw terminal (with clevis pin) to it.

To install the swageless stud terminal, drill a 11/32’’ hole in diameter. Install the swageless stud terminal and unscrew the nut as much as possible.

Unscrew the cone of the swageless jaw terminal (with clevis pin) and insert the cable into the cone and the wedge until it is fully seated in the terminal.Tighten securely using two wrenches.

Cut the wire rope by measuring the distance to the swageless stud terminal. Unscrew the cone of the swageless stud terminal and insert the cable into the cone and the wedge until it is fully seated in the terminal. Tighten securely using two wrenches.

For tensioning, use a wrench to keep the cone in place and another one to tighten locking nut. Once tensioning is complete, cut excess thread by leaving ¼’’ – 25mm exposed and install the acorn nut.
